Toggle navigation SDBMOE Home Account Login Licensee Lookup EXECUTIVE ORDER 2020-07 - MEDICAL ASSISTANCE - REGARDING LICENSEES FROM OTHER STATES On March 23, 2020, Governor Noem issued Executive Order 2020-07 which recognizes the licenses of medical professionals licensed in another state in accordance with the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) . Medical professionals licensed in an EMAC member state have the authority to practice in South Dakota based on their license in that EMAC member state. There is a specific process for requesting assistance through EMAC using South Dakota Emergency Management. A health system or facility can reach out to South Dakota Emergency Management to request out-of-state assistance and to verify if anything is required prior to employing or utilizing medical professionals with out of state licenses.
